Except, in Hollow Knight you are constantly unlocking little shortcuts that make backtracking easier so you don't have to fight all the enemies again. You have a big zone with a main path you travel through like any mv game.

Hollow Knight does something you might like though. I dont there there is any traditional metroidvania that has no respawns. You can clear out an area for the day, but eventually people are gonna make a mess of things again. Instead, the game has a day/night cycle, and messes re-appear during transitions from one time period to another. The various bits of garbage and grime around the house, on the other hand, does respawn, but not upon returning to an area. Sort of a weird mix of a life sim, a Metroidvania and a 3D collect-a-thon sans the actual collectibles (there's one sidequest based around a set of hidden items, but otherwise your rewards all come in the form of either currency, upgrades, or story progression).Īnyways, the game isn't super combat-heavy - in fact the main gameplay loop is actually based around cleaning - but the combat that does exist is based around a random encounter system rather than pre-determined spawn locations. Some unofficial phone apps appear to be using GameFAQs as a back-end, but they do not behave like a real web browser does.Using GameFAQs regularly with these browsers can cause temporary and even permanent IP blocks due to these additional requests. If you are using Maxthon or Brave as a browser, or have installed the Ghostery add-on, you should know that these programs send extra traffic to our servers for every page on the site that you browse. The most common causes of this issue are: Your IP address has been temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests.
